What exactly is a discovery call?
It's a free, 30-minute video call where we learn about your business and what's taking up your time. We help you figure out what tasks to delegate first and explain how DotVA works. There's no obligation and no hard sell.
Do I need to prepare anything?
No prep needed. Show up as you are. A rough sense of what's eating your week is plenty. We'll guide the conversation from there.
What happens after the call?
Within 48 hours we send you a written recap with the tasks we'd delegate first, an indicative cost, and a timeline. You decide if you want to move forward. No pressure.
Is it actually free?
Yes. No card, no deposit, no obligation. We charge a refundable $500 deposit only if you decide to start a VA placement after the call.
What does a VA cost?
Most clients pay $12-17/hr for admin and support work, $18-25/hr for specialist roles and $25-35/hr for senior or technical work, all AUD with no super, payroll tax or equipment. The call turns that into an exact figure for your task list. Full breakdown on our pricing page.
We're not in Melbourne. Does that matter?
Not at all. DotVA is Melbourne-based and works with clients in every state. The call is video or phone, and your VA works your business hours in your time zone.
Who trains the VA?
Your VA arrives already across the common Australian small-business stack (Xero, Google Workspace, Shopify and the like). Anything specific to your business, we train during onboarding as part of the placement.
